Delete your SpendSentry account
You can delete your SpendSentry account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to request deletion, what is removed, and what we are required to keep.

Delete from the app (fastest)
If you can sign in to the app, this removes your account immediately:
- Open SpendSentry and go to Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete account, then confirm.
This cancels your subscription and permanently removes your account and data right away. It can't be undone.
Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app, email us and we'll delete your account for you:
- Email **privacy@spendsentry.app from the email address you used to subscribe, with the subject "Delete my account"**.
- We verify that the request comes from your account's email address before we act on it, to protect your account from someone else requesting deletion.
- We complete verified requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in credentials.
- Your subscription list and any subscription details we derived from an uploaded statement or a connected email inbox.
- Any connected email access is revoked at Google or Microsoft as part of deletion. We never store the raw contents of your emails or the raw statement files you upload, so there is no raw email or statement to delete — only the derived details, which are removed.
What we keep, and why
- Billing and payment records that we are legally required to retain for financial, tax, and anti-fraud recordkeeping. Card details are handled by our payment processor, Stripe; we never store full card numbers. These records are kept only as long as the law requires.
- De-identified, aggregated data that can no longer reasonably be linked to you (for example, overall statistics). This is retained in de-identified form only.
Deleting vs. just cancelling
Deleting your account also cancels your SpendSentry subscription. If you only want to cancel your subscription but keep your account, do that from Settings → Account in the app, or contact us — you don't need to delete your account to stop being billed.
